Wondering when to publish your blog? When do customers browse websites? Due to internet patterns of usage, the time of day, and even the specific day play a huge role in the social media game. To create traffic from it you have to bring content that appeals to the social media audience and make sure they are in a receptive mood. So if you created anything that you think is great, how best can you seed that content and make sure it launches and makes the greatest splash?
Remember a few simple rules. The majority of people give the web a break at the weekend, and spend time with their family or friends. Though like many rules this one has an exception, because it also depends on the niche you’re targeting, so understanding the online behavior of your audience by analyzing traffic reports/industry knowledge is a good way to work this out.
Also note that:
Mondays are the first day back at work. People are more likely to start the week off energized and ready to work than on any other day of the week.
Tuesdays are good for launching linkbait because it is still early in the week and there is still some enthusiasm, though web browsing has begun.
Wednesday is true to its nickname “Humpday”. People are losing steam and are looking for inspiration.
Thursday and Friday are gearing up for the weekend days and thus postings will not get read as much as on the rest of the week.
What day do you surf the web and read blogs? Do our days match yours?
